Debora is a South Texas native, as she was born in Seguin and raised in farming communities south of San Antonio. She attended Texas A&M University, where she majored in Business Management/Accounting, and also where she met her husband, Tim. Debora and Tim were married at St. Matthew’s here in San Antonio, but eventually settled on the Northeast side of town and began attending St. Pius X in the mid 1990’s, where they were instantly drawn to the warm community feeling and pastoral guidance of Monsignor Brosnan. Debora and Tim recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Both of their children attended the SPX Religious Education Program and completed their sacraments. Debora was an active participant in the REP program and served as an instructor for nearly 15 years. In May 2022, Debora retired after 25 years of service as the Accounts Payable Manager at NEISD to accept the position of Parish and School Bookkeeper here at St. Pius X. She has also returned to the REP program as a teacher’s assistant with her grandson’s 2nd grade sacramental prep class, has previously served as a Core Team member on Women’s ACTS retreats, and assists with the SPX Festival and SPX School Gala committees. She loves arts and crafts, baking, various genres of music, and along with her husband, enjoys traveling on cruises (a lot of them!) and feels blessed to have traveled to so many different countries and places and can share these experiences with family and friends. One of the biggest fringe benefits of serving as Parish Bookkeeper is the “puppy cuddles” she gets every day from her “work pets”—Gracie and Zoe—(Father Pat’s dogs), and being in the position to be of true service to all of the wonderful families and members of the SPX community.
