Born and raised in San Antonio, Lauren is the oldest of two siblings and has been musically involved at St. Matthew Catholic Church since she could remember. She is a high school graduate of the North East School of the Arts (NESA, Instrumental Music) & the International School of the Americas (ISA). She then went onto Baylor University (Sic ‘em, Bears!) to pursue her Bachelor’s of Music Education degree. She was a part of the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Baylor Symphony Orchestra, playing flute and piccolo in those ensemble. She also studied voice for four semesters as her secondary instrument, preparing alto and mezzo-soprano repertoire. During her undergraduate studies, she was involved with campus ministry at St. Peter’s Catholic Student Center, specifically with the Awakening Retreats. She also was involved with St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Hewitt, TX, with their youth ministry, sharing her gift of music with the youth.
Upon her return to San Antonio, she taught middle school band at Scobee Middle School in South West ISD, and then joined the faculty at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School. There she taught elementary music and a wide range of middle school music electives, include a handbell ensemble, choir, band, guitar ensemble, and recorder ensemble. In 2017, Lauren joined the St. Pius X community as the Parish Worship Director, overseeing worship and liturgical ministries. She has also stayed involved as St. Pius X Catholic School, teaching elementary music and starting a middle school ukulele ensemble. She has also led worship at Archdiocesan events, most notably at The Assembly with “The Maestros”. She is wife to her husband Paulo and mother to her son, Seth. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as cooking.
